Like Father, Like Son

It is a fact that parents try, and they always put a lot of emphasis on this process,  to make their own children a better copy of themselves. But of course, this is often a very delicate issue. When they are too little, they are not aware of what you are trying to do and at this point it is much easier to dress them up as if they were your own “Mini-me”.

What could be done about this?.. We ask ourselves. Should we dress them up with some victorian clothing? Buy them something decent on one of our regular stores? or just make them models? Some parents disguise their passion and dedication to fashion as real caring for their own children. Obviously it´s not the same thing. Children cannot be treated as objects or mannequins for parents (or “hangers” for their own ambitions…) no matter how young they are. Having fun and sharing life with them in an appropiatte way is always desirable,  but never subduing their personality, or affecting their games and timetables in any ways in order to fulfill their own parents’ dreams ….

The main thing is always the child, not trying to make them a star we wish we were our ownselves. Supporting them without putting any additional pressure. It´s them who must have the confidence and confort while having fun, learning and exercising without parents’ fashion or aesthetic desires being the priority.
